The Fighter: Chesapeake Blue Crab | Framed Art Print
$245.00
The Fighter captures one of the Chesapeake Bay's most iconic residents exactly as I see them—bold, stubborn, brilliantly colored, and always ready to defend themselves. Painted in transparent watercolor, this blue crab balances delicate washes with the unmistakable strength of its raised claws. Every scrape of shell, flash of cobalt, and rust-red edge tells the story of a creature perfectly adapted to life in the estuary.
Blue crabs are woven into the identity of the Chesapeake, and they've become one of my favorite subjects to paint. Their colors shift from cool ocean blues to warm olive greens and deep crimson accents, making them endlessly fascinating both as wildlife and as works of natural design.
The original watercolor found its home at an Annapolis art show, and I'm excited to offer fine art prints so more people can bring a little piece of the Chesapeake home.
